Washington House

Washington House is a former school with a tower crowning its two-story brick edifice and a broad roof with a copper overhang. Built in 1897, this building is on the National Register of Historic Places and includes 14 apartments four studios and 10 one-bedrooms. The apartments are spacious, with high ceilings and big windows that provide lots of light. The second-floor lounge has comfortable seating area and a media center. The first floor has another sitting area as well as a laundry facility. Pets are welcome, with certain restrictions. This unique building has an eclectic mix of architectural styles, including Colonial Revival and Italianate. Single-family and two-family homes as well as retail and commercial businesses dot the neighborhood. The nearby Mill River Park offers walking trails in a tranquil setting along the river.
